MerTek is operated by ManorSoft, Inc. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when using mertek.ai, the MerTek web app, and the MerTek desktop app.
Information We Collect
- Account information such as email address, display name, login provider identifiers, access tokens, and account/device records needed to authenticate you.
- Device and local runtime information such as hardware tokens, app version, operating system, update status, service status, and diagnostic events needed to operate the local app.
- Usage and security information such as requests, timestamps, browser type, IP address, audit events, error reports, and abuse-prevention signals.
- Support communications, chat and file-share content you choose to send to other users, and any files, messages, or metadata you choose to send to us.
- Optional mobile phone numbers and SMS consent preferences when you enable text-message notifications in profile settings.
- Cookies, local storage, and similar browser storage used for login, preferences, referral attribution, security, and product operation.
Local-First Work
Agent work usually stays on your machine unless you choose to upload, share, or send it through MerTek.
How We Use Information
- Provide, secure, troubleshoot, and improve MerTek.
- Authenticate accounts and connect browsers, local runtime hosts, and installed apps.
- Publish and validate downloads, updates, release manifests, and installation flows.
- Respond to support requests and communicate about product, security, and service changes.
- Send opted-in SMS account and system notifications when you expressly consent to that channel.
- Detect abuse, enforce terms, comply with legal obligations, and protect users and the service.
How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share information with infrastructure, hosting, analytics, security, payment, email, and support providers that help us run MerTek; with other users when you choose to send or share data through chat, file shares, or collaboration features; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
Mobile information and text-messaging consent data are not sold, rented, or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. All of the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties for marketing.
SMS Notifications Consent
If you choose to opt in, MerTek may send recurring SMS messages for account, security, and system notifications. This SMS channel is for service notifications and support-related alerts, not normal promotional marketing campaigns. Message frequency varies and message/data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact us at hello@mertek.ai. Consent to SMS notifications is optional and is not a condition of purchase.
Safety, Legal Compliance, and Law Enforcement
We respect lawful civil liberties and believe people should have broad freedom from government intrusion. At the same time, MerTek has zero tolerance for unlawful use, exploitation, abuse, or harm to children. We may preserve, review, disclose, or report information when we believe it is required by law, necessary to respond to valid legal process, or reasonably needed to protect children, users, the public, our systems, or others from serious harm. Where lawful and appropriate, we may proactively cooperate with law enforcement, child safety organizations, regulators, or other authorities investigating illegal activity or threats to safety.
Retention
We keep information as long as reasonably needed for product operation, security, legal compliance, backups, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records. Local data stored on your machine is controlled through your local operating system and the MerTek local app.
Your Choices
You can stop using the service, uninstall the local app, clear browser storage, or contact us to request help with account access, correction, export, or deletion. Some records may be retained where required for security, legal, accounting, backup, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards for MerTek, but no system is perfectly secure. Keep your account credentials, devices, and local machine secure.
Children
MerTek is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as MerTek changes. The effective date above shows when this version was published.
